About Us
Charlotte's Kitchen was established in late 2015 and is bought to you by the rascals and reprobates from the Duke of Marlborough Hotel.
At Charlotte's Kitchen, we believe the best meals happen when great food meets good company — and an unbeatable Bay of Islands view doesn't hurt either.
Our Autumn menu is where coastal New Zealand meets seriously considered cooking. Start with Paroa Bay oysters (natural or tempura, because why choose?), Haku Kingfish Sashimi with late summer tomato water, or Diamond Shell Clams with chorizo and apple cider — yes, really. Move into mains like our Steamed Roulade of Northland Market Fish, a grass-fed Bavette with Taleggio cheese and parsnip fondant, or — for those who came hungry and mean it — the slow-roasted Pork Knuckle or the Beef Tomahawk (ask us about that one).
Pizza lovers, you're not forgotten. Our woodfired pizzas are hand-crafted with the kind of love Charlotte was famous for, cooked at 400°C in a custom Napoli-style oven with San Marzano tomatoes and Clevedon Valley Buffalo mozzarella. They might have a few charred edges. That's a feature, not a bug.
Finish with a Feijoa Parfait, Chocolate Cremeux, or — our personal favourite — Charlie's Gelato served in a waffle cone with popcorn and praline. The Affogato is also available with a cheeky liquor addition, should the evening call for it.
With gluten-free, dairy-free and vegetarian options throughout, Charlotte's Kitchen is made for long lunches, relaxed dinners, and the kind of catch-ups that stretch well past dessert.

To use an old cliché a picture paints a 1000 words, this is exactly how we feel about Charlotte's Kitchen.
So there is the wharf, and the water, and then us “Charlotte's Kitchen“ right smack bang at end of the wharf in Paihia in the Bay of Islands.
